Zinedine Zidane has reportedly told the Real Madrid hierarchy that they have to sell Gareth Bale this summer, even if it means the club lose money.
Zidane has returned to the Santiago Bernabeu as coach after 10 months away, but does so with a much greater say so in their transfer dealings.
The French tactician has decided that Bale is not part of the club’s long-term future and, according to the Independent, has made his feelings clear to president Florentino Perez.
Zidane has apparently told the Blancos leader that Bale has to go this summer as he looks to build his attack around Vinicius Jr and Eden Hazard.
Real Madrid had hoped to recoup all of the €120m they paid Tottenham back in 2013, but it’s now thought that Bale could be available for just over half that – with him being off the wage bill the most important thing.
A return to Spurs has been mentioned, while Manchester United are also thought to be keen on his services.
