More than Five persons have lost their lives and lots of properties damaged in a clash between the people of Mkpuma Igbeagu development center in Izzi Local Government Area of Ebonyi State and her Cross Riverian neighboring Community, Ukene in Yala Local Government Area of Cross River state over boundary issue.

There is a breach of security and heightened tension in the two communities as the two communities are already war-charged, ready to manifest in a bloody combat. The community leaders and opinion leaders of Mkpuma Igbeagu have dispersed a home-coming message to their sons, home and Diaspora with the levy of five thousand naira per youth. The town hall meeting scheduled for today in a secret venue, a forum to select the most vibrant and energetic among their youths to be engaged in a special training on arms and combat.

Mean while, Ebonyi State Governor Engr. David Nweze Umahi has dispatched a team of the Department of State Security (DSS), State Director of Service (SDS), Ebonyi state Commissioner for Police and every other Security Agency in the state to the place to look into the issue with urgency.

But all the efforts made by The Starnews to get the situation of the clash from the Cross River counterpart or any Security Agency proved abortive as at the time of this report. We are also yet to get information on any effort made by the Cross River State towards arresting the situation.

It is hopeful that a panel would be set up to resolve the age-long land disputes and a long lasting solution will be put in place.
