It may not be the first time Governor Chief Engr David will be treated to a civic reception in Afikpo, but this Monday, March 12, 2018, programme to host the Governor by the entire Afikpo north local government area was distinct and unique because of the passion the reception generated.
His Excellency Afikpo north people have unanimously agreed that you deserve to be encouraged and supported not only for the works you have been doing in the council area but also across the 13 LGAs of Ebonyi State.
For the Afikpo people, you are like the proverbial akidi bean that the Igbo accuse of knowing no boundary while germinating its seeds. The people, however, feel that the Governor’s rapid development in Afikpo local government is different in the sense that right from when he was elected as the Governor of Ebonyi state, he quickly settled to pick Abakaliki-Afikpo road as one of his first projects which have been a nightmare to entire Ebonyi south  people before its construction.
As if that was not enough, Governor Nwaeze Umahi went ahead to pick one of the terrible roads in Afikpo town, Ngodo-Amangballa road and constructed it with street lights.
Truly Afikpo has got its fair share in terms of David’s developmental projects and as Oliver Twist, it will not be wrong to ask for more as knowing full well that our action governor  will deliver by crossing Ndibe-cross river bridge that will enhance more development in the Council and state in general and restore more steady lights to us.
“As all the roads lead  to prestigious government secondary school Afikpo, we  invite everybody, men and women, young and old, politicians and traders, Ezegos and theirs cabinets and at the same time tell everybody to collect their Permanent Voters Cards, PVCs, if you are of voting age, because part of this movement is the Akubaraoha project which is like a freedom train and you need that ticket to go in and the ticket is your voter’s card. Because Clearly, we are endorsing him for a second term and we are not thinking twice about it, wholeheartedly and unanimously we endorse him for a second term 2019 because one good term they say deserves another.

Jokwa sir.
